What a day for the comeback kings — and I’m not talking about Los Angeles. The San Jose Sharks have completely mesmerized me. The Washington Capitals have left me gobsmacked. And the Detroit Red Wings have truly shown that they are a Mike Babcock production.

Just because the Bruins finally beat the Habs I am writing this post. Pure joy. And when Tim Thomas jumped on that last “too close for comfort goal” I knew it was in the bag. Chara’s back! The boys are back in tooooooown……

What are we at? Fifth day of Playoffs? Has it been four days already?! Well what the hell’s happened since I left you on Thursday? Umm, let’s see…
Montreal humiliated Boston. Do I really want to go there? I mean WHAT THE SHMUCK BOSTON?! Chara was out of the game. He suffered from dehydration the previous day and was hospitalized. He came out for the morning skate but wasn’t in the game. Anyways, Lucic was blocked by Subban the whole night and just lost his god-loving mind trying to shake him off. Horton, on the other hand, just full out had a public melt-down and smashed his stick on the ice. Carey Price made a bunch of saves, Tim Thomas made his share of saves but no amount of good goal tending could save Boston’s game.

What is it? Day 2 already? I keep forgetting how packed these playoff games are. But to be fair, ever since the puck drop in Detroit on Wednesday, I’ve never felt happier. Hockey on TV and it’s actually guaranteed.
You may call me a simpleton but living in Southern California as a hockey fan is what I like to call: a crapshoot. Yeah, I do get the Anaheim and Kings games but if the Lakers or the Clippers, hell, even if the Sparks are playing at the same time as a hockey game, all footage goes to basketball. If I’m lucky, the basketball game will end early and Fox Sports will be kind enough to air the few last fleeting minutes of a hockey game but more often than not that doesn’t happen. This is one hockey starved area of the world.

History has yet to repeat itself when it comes to the Vancouver Canucks vs. Chicago Blackhawks quarterfinal playoff series. Vancouver netted a pair of goals within the first period of the game and maintained the 2-0 lead until the end of the third. The Hawks left empty handed and the Canucks left feeling like they might actually have this one in the bag.

Where the hell have THESE Capitals been? These winning Capitals are SO much more interesting to watch than that mopey, sorry ass team I was staring at during the HBO series…. which, yes, I watched on YouTube. Don’t look at me like that. I don’t have money for HBO. I don’t even have the money for a decent website.
This phenomenal shift of change makes me think that something supernatural is going on. Has Coach Bruce found some Native American elixirs up in Canada? Eh? What would Ovechkin’s Native American name be? ‘Missing Tooth’, ‘Skates with Soviets’, ‘Important Player but No Goal.’
